Emma Stone is reportedly in talks to portray villain Cruella de Vil in a forthcoming live-action Disney movie, Cruella.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Academy Award-nominated Stone has stepped into early negotiations with Disney to play the wicked persona in a forthcoming live-action 101 Dalmatians spinoff entitled Cruella. The outlet reports a director is not yet attached to the project, even though the film has been listed as a priority for studio executives, who are hoping the movie begins filming later in 2016.

Although there is no confirmed director as of yet, many other critical positions have been filled, as Andrew Gunn will serve as producer while Kristin Burr and Jessie Virtue are overseeing the entire production for Disney. Kelly Marcel is currently writing the script and Aline Brosh McKenna worked on an earlier version of the screenplay. The movie will reportedly focus on Cruella de Vil’s life before she grew to become the dog hide obsessed villain audiences are familiar with in 101 Dalmatians.
