It isn’t just Kate Winslet’s acting which has gained attention over the years. Her youthful appearance is also widely admired, so Winslet, 40, made sure to highlight that at the prestigious ceremony last night, where she won Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Steve Jobs. Her beauty look was thanks to the expertise of make-up artist Lisa Eldridge, who has revealed details of how she created the star’s finish.
“Kate and I had discussed the look last week and Kate really wanted her skin to look flawless but very natural, dewy and fresh first and foremost,” she told People, as well as posting a full breakdown on her blog.
Work began in Winslet’s hotel room in Beverly Hills in the early afternoon, before which the actress sent Lisa a video via Whatsapp of her blue Ralph Lauren gown. The cosmetics specialist knew exactly what make-up to use in order to complement the dress.

“I agreed that she would look great with shimmering defined eyes, a fresh pink lip and a glowy, flawless skin,” Lisa wrote on her blog. “Kate always looks so effortlessly beautiful in this kind of polished make-up.”
On the eyes Lisa used Lancôme‘s Hypnôse Star Eyes Palette in Brun Adoré with black liquid liner, adding layers of Hypnôse Doll Lashes Waterproof Mascara. Once Winslet’s make-up was finished and the star was in her dress, Lisa reached for Lancôme‘s Éclat Miracle serum and swept it carefully over her arms and shoulders.
“I made sure there wasn’t any excess by pressing over with a tissue afterwards – I was terrified of getting any on that dress!” Lisa wrote.
Hairstylist Renato Campora was in charge of Winslet’s hair, creating a faux bob, swept over to one side.
