Garry Marshall Confirms ‘Princess Diaries 3’
Garry Marshall and his leading lady Anne Hathaway are making plans for another Princess Diaries film.
Nine months after Disney bosses dismissed reports of a Princess Diaries 3, director Marshall has confirmed he and Anne are in talks to bring her Mia Thermopolis back to the big screen.
The Oscar winner first played the unlikely royal in 2001 and returned for a sequel in 2004.
“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,” Marshall tells People magazine.
But he has to wait because his leading lady is “very pregnant”, adding they’ll start work on the film once the baby is born later this year.
The original 2001 The Princess Diaries, based on Meg Cabot’s 2000 novel of the same name, was a box office success, raking in $165 million worldwide. The 2004 sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, earned $135 million worldwide.
We’ll keep you posted on Princess Diaries 3 as more details become available!
