Harrison Ford Shocked that ‘Star Wars’ Spoiler Stayed Secret

Harrison Ford has joked that he would have beat anyone up who revealed a certain spoiler from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The 73-year-old actor reprised his role as Han Solo for the latest installment in the film series, officially titled Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. However fans of the franchise were left stunned when Han was killed off unexpectedly in the newest movie.

Ford previously revealed he had argued for “30 years” for his character to be killed off, but he was most surprised that the death wasn’t revealed to others by those who had already seen the film.

“It’s pretty amazing actually that people respected their fellow audience members to the extent that it didn’t get around,” Harrison marveled during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “That was fantastic. I think they knew that I would show up at their house and beat the s**t out of them!”

As well as Han Solo, Ford’s most famous role is that of archaeologist Indiana Jones. It was recently confirmed that he will be reprising the character for another tale, and the father-of-five is excited about getting his teeth stuck into the part once more.

“The opportunity to work with Steven (Spielberg) again on this character again is… The chance to revisit this character which has brought pleasure to so many people, not to mention me! It’s fun, it’s great fun to play this character,” he smiled. “It’s great fun to work with Steven, I’m looking forward to it.”

Kimmel also showed the audience a picture of Ford alongside rapper MC Hammer – a somewhat unlikely pairing. The snap was taken in February at the TED2016 conference – a week-long conference in Canada about “daring to dream” – and Harrison said he was blown away by MC Hammer’s intelligence.

“He’s a very restrained and serious man. He’s a really interesting dude. (I knew his music) a little bit, yeah!” he said. “I was listening to him explain to some young people how he goes about doing a rap song and what’s fascinating to me is that it’s a very intellectual process. He’s a smart guy.”
