‘Agent Carter’ Cancelled by ABC

ABC has cancelled Marvel’s Agent Carter after two seasons.

The period spy show, which saw Hayley Atwell playing her character from Captain America: The First Avenger in the years following that film, was always on the bubble due to average ratings despite being a consistent critical favorite.

Atwell had booked a lead role in ABC’s drama pilot Conviction, which cast some doubt on Agent Carter’s chances at coming back for a third season. The network has given a series order to Conviction, which likely led to the cancellation of the series.
