It has been reported that due to the legal battle between the studio, the estate of Superman creator Jerry Siegel and DC Comics, Warner Bros. has to have a Superman movie in production by 2011. Warner Bros. exec Alan Horn stated at the trial that Superman is not in development, has no script and that the earliest that the film could be produced is 2012. That would put the film up against Marvel’s adaptation of The Avengers and past the deadline. Warner Bros. has a full plate, with The Green Lantern as well as the final two Harry Potter films. As of now, it is doubtful that Superman will be made before the deadline.
Director Christopher Nolan is still undecided on his involvement in the next Batman film. So for now Batman 3 also has not been scheduled.
