Felicity Jones says her Rogue One: A Star Wars Story fight scenes were “exhausting”.
The 32-year-old actress is playing Jyn Erso in the hotly anticipated movie and admits the action scenes took “a lot of hours of practice”.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “I’m laughing now, but at the time, it was physically exhausting. It took a lot of hours of practice, and I worked with a kung fu coach, and I learned to fight, even though I never thought beating up Stormtroopers was something I’d be doing in my job. It came through hard work and lots of practice and rehearsals.”
Meanwhile, Felicity previously admitted she knew her line in the Star Wars movie, “may the force be with us”, would be “momentous”.
She shared: “I have to say it was one of those moments that I was really nervous about for weeks before. I kept walking around my house just trying out the line. I’d just be in the bathroom and be like, ‘May the force be with you. May the force be with you. May the force be with you.’ You just go over and over and over again because I knew it was such a momentous moment for the film.”
Whilst the movie is in its final stage now, filming reportedly suffered a number of issues, with one being when executives ordered for a number of reshoots.
A source said previously: “The execs at Disney are not happy with the movie, and Rogue One will have to go back into four weeks of expensive reshoots in July.
“Gareth [Edwards’] work on the first ‘Godzilla’ [which came out in 2014] shows he can handle a big studio blockbuster. But ‘Rogue One’ has fallen short of what J.J. Abrams did with ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.’ So Disney has ordered reshoots. Disney won’t take a back seat, and is demanding changes, as the movie isn’t testing well.”
