‘Hancock’ Sequel?

Director Peter Berg recently spoke about a possible sequel to Hancock. The problem, though, is that at the end of the first film, it was revealed that Will Smith’s character was not just a superhero, but that he was an immortal god. So the only way that he would become vulnerable would be when he is in the presence of his goddess companion, which was played by Charlize Theron. So obviously another god would have to be added as a nemesis for Smith’s character. Here is what Berg had to say…

“There might be another god out there. Might be another one.”

Berg also stated that he and Smith are busy, and that while Columbia may want the film right away, that’s not happening…

“They like to fast-track it, but Will’s busy, I’m pretty busy. We’re excited to do one, but we want the script to be right and the movie to be right. We don’t feel a burning imperative to go right back into it.”
