Gears of War 4: Twenty Minutes of Extreme Anticipation

Gears of War 4 is less than two weeks away from its October 11th release date, but it’s even closer than that for those who ordered the Ultimate Edition to receive the game 4 days earlier. The wait is almost over, and if just knowing that has you filled with anticipation for the game than these next 20 minutes are about to take that to an extreme new level.

A new 20-minute gameplay video was released for Gears of War 4 titled the Prologue, which is the game’s opening act that takes players through key battles that have never been seen before in the games. These brief moments include Emergence Day and a crucial battle from the Pendulum Wars.

The video is introduced by The Coalition’s Studio Head, Rod Fergusson, and Lead Campaign Designer, Matt Searcy, before it jumps right into the action. Having watched it already, the gameplay obviously looks exciting, but the visuals look so crystal clear and beautiful! Plus, the lighting during the final segment looks ohh soo goood. Yup, I’m also filled with extreme anticipation for the latest installment of Gears of War.

There’s even more excitement for Gears fans to look forward to as a special Gears of War 4: LIVE event will take place on October 5th. It will be hosted by Paul Scheer (The League, Children’s Hospital), Jessica Chobot (Nerdist News), Larry Hryb (Xbox Live’s Major Nelson), Scott Robison (Mr. Sark), and Justine Ezarik (iJustine) as they provide exclusive interviews and gameplay, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and much more.

Gears of War 4: LIVE begins at 3PM PST on October 5th and will be live streamed on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Xbox.com, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Beam.

Gears of War 4 is set to launch on October 11th for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. Fans who purchase the digital copy will be able to make use of Xbox Play Anywhere and play the game on both platforms. Until then, consider gearing up for war!
