ABC Sets Season Finales

As the TV season winds down, ABC has locked in finale dates for most of its signature skeins.

Announcement includes what will likely be the series farewells for long-running comedies “Scrubs,” which exits with an hourlong episode on May 6 at 8 p.m., and “According to Jim,” which signs off on May 5 at 8:30 p.m.

“Lost” winds down its fifth season on May 13 with a two-hour seg, “Grey’s Anatomy” ends the year with a two-hour episode on May 14, and “Desperate Housewives” concludes its season with a two-hour episode on May 17.

Among reality series, “Dancing With the Stars” struts off the stage with a two-hour finale on May 19 (a day after the previously announced launch of “The Bachelorette”), while “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” also winds down with a two-hour episode on May 17.

“Wife Swap” and “Supernanny” end their year on May 1, while “America’s Funniest Home Videos” travels to Friday to complete its season with a two-hour episode on May 15.

Other season-enders include “Private Practice” (April 30) and “Brothers and Sisters” (May 10).

Thursday night sitcoms “In the Motherhood” and “Samantha Who?” end their seasons on April 30, leaving room for the return of “Ugly Betty” on May 7. “Betty” ends its year a few weeks later, on May 21.

Frosh skeins ending their seasons include “Better Off Ted” (April 29), “Castle” (May 11) and “Cupid” (May 12). “Surviving Suburbia” and “The Unusuals” haven’t yet been given end dates.
