Stephen King’s Son Has His Own Movie Deals

Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, has sold the film rights to his upcoming book, ‘Horns’. The younger King uses Hill, an abbreviated version of Hillstrom, his middle name, to avoid the connection with his father. Mandalay Pictures bought the rights of the book, which will be published in February. Mandalay’s Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman will produce the film with Hill serving as an executive producer.

Here is a description of the book: ‘”Horns’ is a love story driven by horror and vengeance that revolves around a 26-year-old man who wakes up one morning from a blackout hangover and finds horns sprouting out of his head. As the horns grow bigger by the day, the reason why seems to lie in the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.”

Hill’s first novel, “Heart-Shaped Box,” was previously picked up by Warner Bros.
