When is The Leftovers returning to HBO? Series creators Damon Lindelof and Tom Perrotta announced the news on Tuesday via social media stating that the series will return in April 2017. Fans had originally hoped that the third season would air behind the last season of Game of Thrones, however filming was delayed.
Fans can expect the series to return in Spring 2017 though and have an eight-episode run before the third and final season wraps. Filming for this installment took place on location in Texas and Australia and brings back cast members Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Christopher Eccleston, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler, and Chris Zylka.
Damon Lindelof serves as the series showrunner, and this final season is executive produced by Lindelof, Perrotta, Mimi Leder, Tom Spezialy, Gene Kelly, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey. We’ll keep you posted as more news surfaces!
