‘District 9’ Sequel Won’t Happen Soon

According to reports it doesn’t look as if the sequel to District 9 will happen anytime soon. Sony is eager to do the sequel, but those close to producer Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp are saying that the sequel will only happen when the pair can organize their schedules. Jackson will be working on The Hobbit, while Blomkamp is fielding numerous offers at the moment. District 9 has grossed nearly $200 million at the worldwide box office thus far, with a budget of only $30 million.
