Zemeckis Wants Real Beatles for ‘Yellow Submarine’
Robert Zemeckis has approached Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr about participating in his upcoming Yellow Submarine remake.
“We haven’t gotten the word yet on the two surviving Beatles, whether they’re interested in doing it or not,” he told reporters.
The film is being described as “a 3-D performance-capture adaptation” of the original 1968 film.
“The Beatles have always been a great source of inspiration for me,” he added. I think it’s a perfect example of a movie that can be re-envisioned in the digital cinema and be absolutely beyond spectacular. I call it, ‘Yellow Submarine: The Digital Trip!'”
Zemeckis did say that he will go forward with the film even if McCartney and Starr aren’t involved.
