Will Smith hooks up with Sci Fi

Two-hour pilot of Unfinished Business picked up by soon-to-be SyFy; Will Smith will produce the paranormal cop procedural.

Will Smith is a box-office-busting superstar in the film industry; an actor studios can count on to draw crowds in almost any role. Now he hopes that having his name attached to a television show will have the same effect on the small-screen industry.

Sci Fi Channel has picked up Unfinished Business, a drama pilot from Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, says The Hollywood Reporter. Smith will produce the show, about a former policeman who can see the memories of dead people.

The two-hour pilot will serve as the basis for a potential series, much like Sci Fi Channel did with Battlestar Galactica and the forthcoming Caprica. Other two-hour pilots currently awaiting to air at Sci Fi include The Phantom, a remake of the comic, and the eerie Riverworld.
