‘A Couple of Dicks’ Gets New Name

Director Kevin Smith revealed that his comedy ‘A Couple of Dicks’ has received a name change and will now be titled ‘Cop Out.’ The announcement came last week before the “Cop Out” trailer began showing in front of Warner’s “Sherlock Holmes” on Christmas Day. He has stated that the key reason for the switch was that the studio wanted to advertise “Cop Out” on sports programs but the major networks indicated they couldn’t run ads prior 9 p.m. if the film was titled “A Couple of Dicks.”

Cop Out,” due to open in February, stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan and centers on a pair of cops who track down a stolen baseball card, rescue a Mexican beauty and deal with gangsters and laundered drug money.
