Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) recently did an interview about his upcoming film ‘Inception’. The movie has a star-studded cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Ken Watanabe, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger and Michael Caine. The film had been defined as a contemporary sci-fi action film set within the architecture of the mind, but more details came out in the interview. The thriller is now said to involve “corporate espionage by way of dream invasion”.
Nolan called the film “the biggest challenge I’ve taken on to this point”, Nolan said he drew inspiration from the world-spanning James Bond movies of his youth saying, “We get to do that here, not just geographically but also in time and dimensions of reality as well. We get to make a movie that’s expansive, I suppose you’d say, in four dimensions…We’re trying to tell a story on a massive scale, a true blockbuster scale – the biggest I’ve ever been involved with. We tried to make a very large-scale film with ‘The Dark Knight’ and with this one we wanted to push that even further.”
Inception opens July 16.
