National Lampoon’s ‘Vacation’ Series Getting Rebooted

The ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ franchise is getting a reboot. The film is said to be a return to the roots of the franchise, with Rusty, the son of Clark Griswold, taking his family on a trip to Wally World before it closes down. While there is no confirmation, it is expected that Chevy Chase will return for a cameo role in the film.

‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ was released in 1983, and from there three sequels, ‘National Lampoon’s European Vacation’, ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ and ‘National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation’ followed. The new film will likely drop the “Lampoon” name. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, along with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) will write the script.
