Taylor Lautner To Play Stretch Armstrong

‘Twilight’ star Taylor Lautner is set to play the title character in Universal Pictures’ ‘Stretch Armstrong’, which will launch in 2012. The delay is to allow the movie to be rendered in 3D and to take Lautner’s pre-existing commitments into account.

Universal Pictures Co-Chairman Donna Langley had this to say, “In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power. We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch.”

The movie will be directed by Oscar winner Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 8 Mile, American Gangster) with Steve Oedekerk (Bruce Almighty) doing the screenplay.
