‘Mission Impossible 4’ Getting Made

Paramount Pictures has announced that ‘Mission Impossible IV’ is a go. It will be produced by Tom Cruise, J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions, with Cruise also starring in the film. Release is set for Memorial Day weekend 2011.

Paramount Chairman and CEO Brad Grey said that “Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise.”

‘Life on Mars’ writers Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are writing the script for the movie, working with an original concept from Cruise and Abrams. The hunt is on for a director.

The Mission Impossible franchise has grossed over $1.4 billion globally. Mission Impossible IV will be co-financed by David Ellison’s Skydance Productions.
