Christopher Nolan Involved in ‘Superman’

It is being reported that Warner Bros. is turning to Christopher Nolan to mentor the newest version of Superman. The feeling at Warner Bros. is that Nolan is the man to get the film off on the right track in the eyes of fans and critics alike. Nolan’s role has not been specified, just that they want him to get the franchise going in the right direction.

The latest version of Superman is in the early stages of development, and will be a completely fresh franchise. The film is looked at as a huge test for Warner Bros veteran executive Diane Nelson, now the head of DC Entertainment Inc. DC Entertainment Inc. was founded in order to fully realize the value of the DC Comics brand and characters. The Superman franchise is looked at as too valuable to leave dormant. Plus the clock is ticking, as in 2013, the Jerome Siegel heirs and the estate of co-creator Joe Shuster will own the entire original copyright to Superman. At that point, neither DC Comics nor Warner Bros will be able to exploit any new Superman works without a license from the Siegels and Shusters.
