Theatrical Releases for April 16th, 2010

Death at a Funeral (R), Comedy – An American family has come together to put a beloved husband and father to rest. As mourners gather at the family home, shocking revelations, festering resentments, ugly threats, blackmail and a misdirected corpse unleash lethal and riotous mayhem. Stars Chris Rock, Regina Hall, Danny Glover, and Tracy Morgan.

Handsome Harry (NR), Drama – An ex-Navy man carrying out the last wish of a dying shipmate renews contact with old friends to break the code of silence around a mysterious, long-buried crime. Stars Steve Buscemi, Mariann Mayberry and Aidan Quinn.

Kick-Ass (R), Action – An average teenaged comic-book fan decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. Stars Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Malice in Wonderland (R), Drama – An American student is hit by a London taxi and finds herself disoriented in Sunderland, where she has to navigate a macabre underworld of characters. Stars Maggie Grace, Danny Dyer and Nathaniel Parker.

The City of Your Final Destination (PG-13), Drama – A 28-year-old doctoral student has won a grant to write a biography of Latin American writer Jules Gund. But he must get through to three people who were close to Gund – his brother, widow, and younger mistress – so he can get authorization to write the biography. Stars Anthony Hopkins, Laura Linney and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The Joneses (R), Drama – The Jones Family moves into their monster home in an affluent suburb of a city somewhere in America. Friendly, confident and very good-looking, they are also loaded with the coolest, newest stuff. Within days, all four family members have insinuated their way into the community. Despite the Joneses’ success integrating into the community, soon the fissures in their family begin to spew. But it’s not until an outright catastrophe occurs next door that they are forced to make choices about their priorities. Stars David Duchovny, Demi Moore, Amber Heard and Gary Cole.

The Perfect Game (PG), Biography – In 1957, former baseball player Cesar Faz returns home to Mexico as he is defeated by the racism of the Major Leagues. He coaches a local youth league team, leading them all the way to the Little League World Series. Stars Clifton Collins Jr., Lou Gossett Jr. and Cheech Marin.

The Secret in Their Eyes (R), Drama – A federal justice agent becomes entangled in the investigation of the crime of a young woman, brutally raped and murdered inside her house in a Buenos Aires neighborhood. Stars Ricardo Darin, Soledad Villamil and Pablo Rago.
