Nicolas Cage May Lose ‘Ghost Rider’

According to a report, Columbia Pictures may be forced to recast Ghost Rider for ‘Ghost Rider 2’ if Nicolas Cage cannot commit to making the film this year.

The report states that if Columbia hasn’t started production on the sequel by November 14 of this year, the rights to the franchise will revert to Marvel, and therefore to Disney. With Cage potentially making a third ‘National Treasure’ movie at that time, he may not be able to take part.

A script has reportedly been turned in by ‘FlashForward’ writers Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman, who were supervised by ‘Batman Begins’ writer David S. Goyer. Columbia is taking this script to various potential directors.
