Fangirls and fanboys, geeks and goths, rocket builders and Team Rocket. On Labor Day weekend 2017, over 80,000 fans of all stripes descended on downtown Atlanta for the 31st annual Dragon Con.
Geeks of all ages came from near and far to meet up with fellow fans, see the stars of their favorite shows, and party into the wee smalls with thousands of their closest friends.

Headliners this year included stars like William Shatner, returning favorite John Barrowman, and the Marvel-ous Stan Lee, who served as the Grand Marshall for the Dragon Con Parade. The parade itself filled Peachtree with what I can only imagine is the second-largest mass of people to fill that street this year (we haven’t surpassed the numbers of the Peachtree Road Race yet, but give us time)! I myself marched for the first time this year, but it certainly won’t be the last!
If you missed Atlanta’s “Nerdi Gras” this year, go ahead and run to the Dragon Con website now to grab your tickets for 2018. The earlier you register, the more you save (and the more you can spend over in the AmericasMart dealer rooms). Dragon Con has been getting bigger every year, so make sure you don’t miss out! We definitely won’t!
