Christian Bale May Star in ‘The Revenant’

It is being reported that Christian Bale is in talks to star in ‘The Revenant’, a new action-revenge tale from Aussie director John Hillcoat. Mark L. Smith (Vacancy) wrote the script.

The story will apparently be based on Michael Punke’s fact-based 2003 novel which recounts the horrific tale of frontiersman Hugh Glass who was a 36-year-old member of a fur-trapping expedition to the Rocky Mountains in 1823 when he was mauled by a grizzly. The group’s captain left behind two men, John Fitzgerald and the legendary Jim Bridger, to stay with Glass until he died from his injuries but they ended up ditching Glass out of fear that Indians would get them. Glass then proceeded to crawl over 200 miles through the wilderness to get his revenge on the two men.
