Reese Witherspoon to Star in ‘Scientology’ Movie

Reese Witherspoon has been offered a role in an upcoming movie that will be loosely based on the Scientology
religion. The Scientology name won’t be used, but the story will focus on a made-up religion with striking similarities to Scientology. Philip Seymour Hoffman is set to play the leader of the religion named “The Master” who will apparently be based on Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Witherspoon would play Mary Sue, The Master’s young, pregnant wife. L. Ron Hubbard’s wife was also named Mary Sue.

Paul Thomas Anderson is set to direct.
