‘The Lion King’ May Become 3D

Don Hahn, who has produced many of Disney’s most popular animated films, said that ‘The Lion King’ could follow 2011’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ into the 3D realm.

“I’m actually trying to work out a 3D conversion of The Lion King,” Hahn revealed. “It’s going to be spectacular. We will do a good job for ya! The technology is tremendous. We did ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’ a few years ago and Tim [Burton] thought it was better than the original because it allows you to walk onto the set.”

Plans are one thing, but the date is still in the distant future, Hahn confirmed.
