How to Boost Your PC Gaming Experience

PC Gaming

If you have a gaming PC then there is a high chance that it is your pride and joy. You may feel as though it helps you to be at the top of your game and you may even feel as though it brings you so much happiness at the end of a hard day. If you want to really boost your gaming experience, then there are a few things that you can do about this. Take a look below to find out more.

Overclock your Video Card

One of the easiest and best ways for you to boost your gaming performance would be for you to try and really push your video card. This is super easy to do and it is very simple as well. The best thing is that it doesn’t cost you anything either, but you will absolutely see a notable improvement in your performance. You can even overclock your CPU as well. How much this helps will have a lot to do with the general performance of your PC, but there is a sweet spot for everything. If you push your PC too hard then it may not be able to keep up with your frame rate and you may even end up making it worse.

Get Great Game Deals

You probably don’t need to play every single game on its launch date. For this reason, it’s a

good idea for you to wait until they come out on a cheaper deal. There are plenty of sites out there that offer bundle deals and you may even find that you can get additional discounts on top of those as well. Discount codes are everywhere on the internet, and just because you can’t find one on Amazon, doesn’t mean that there isn’t one available.

Gamepad

Sure, you might love your mouse and keyboard combination and this is great. Some games however are better with a gamepad. You can connect a huge range of pads to your PC and they are very easy to set up as well. Some of them can be connected right out of the box without you having to worry about downloading software or firmware as well. If one of your favourite games doesn’t support a gamepad then it is more than possible for you to use a joystick mapper to try and connect it up properly. This doesn’t take long at all and you would be surprised at what a difference it can make to your overall gaming experience.

Organize your Library

If you are an avid PC gamer then there is a high chance that you use STEAM to try and manage your games. If you do use this software then you probably also have way too many games. STEAM has a couple of features that can help you with this and it is more than possible for you to manage your overflowing list too. You can add your games to various categories and you can also do this automatically if you install a third party tool. The Search tool is super useful and you can also change the view of your games as well so you can find out whatever you need to know with ease.

Backup and Sync

If you have ever had a hard drive fail on you then you will understand how frustrating this can

  1. For this reason, you need to try and backup as many games as you can. This will help you to recover whatever you need. You may also be able to download the games from the cloud if you have a system in place but this can take hours. For this reason, it’s a good idea for you to have a sync option in place so that you can easily get everything sorted out properly.

Play the Classics

Sometimes you just need a good old dose of nostalgia to get you back in the gaming mood. Believe it or not, there are so many gaming classics out there for you to choose from and a lot of them can be downloaded online. If you have a very new PC, then there is a chance that your game won’t run out of the box, but you might be able to download a patch for them. The publisher may have released a new patch for free as well. If you just can’t seem to get this to work, then you can easily use an emulator. You can find them online and some of them give you the chance to play Nintendo games as well. They are super easy to use and some of them even use the classic controls.

Big Picture

If you are tired of sitting at your desk all the time then you have nothing to worry about. You can easily put games on the big screen by connecting your PC to your television. This is super easy to do if your PC has a HDMI port. If you want to get the best result out of your gaming with zero lag, then you need to make sure that you connect it up with a high-speed cable wherever possible. Of course, it’s important to know that your TV has to be good quality. If your TV is a little old or worse-for-wear then you may be able to get a better picture by using your existing monitor. If you combine this tip with the gamepad mentioned above then you’ll feel as though you are playing a console game without compromising your experience. If you want to step things up to that next level then you might want to look into the best gaming monitors as this will help you to get those great colours.

Mods

One of the biggest bonuses you get when you invest in a PC gaming system is the mods. If you don’t like something about your game, then it is now easier than ever for you to get an instalment so you can change it. Mods can easily make the graphics look stunning and they can also make your gaming menu much more usable. To make things even better, a mod can give you completely new missions and it can even add better features to games that would otherwise have been retro. Modding gives you the chance to make each game a little bit different so it is worth looking into. Of course, you should note that the more you mod a game, the more unstable it becomes so if you get to the point where you are using 10 or 15 mods at any given time then you can expect to experience a couple of issues.

Hardware

No PC is complete without having awesome hardware. If you want to have much better or even much more responsive controls, then it is very easy for you to take advantage of this. You can even get a great pair of headphones so that you can play online as well. The best thing about PC gaming is that you can customise almost any aspect of your experience and you can also swap out components for even better ones. If you have never looked into customising your gaming PC before, then now is certainly the time for you to get that done. The great thing about this is that it doesn’t take long either, so this is very important for you to take into consideration.

Tweak your Settings

At the end of the day, there is only so much new hardware that you can buy. Eventually, you will get to the point where you just can’t buy any more than you already have. So, what do you do when you get to this point? You need to find the perfect settings for your hardware. When you do this, you can then make it much easier to learn what each setting does. This may be time-consuming to say the least, but when you do this you will be able to find one that gives you the best result. You can then use apps to try and enhance your experience even more. This can work wonders for your gaming experience and you would be surprised at how efficient the whole process can be. Of course, if you find it hard to try and know which settings are working for you then you can easily download some software to help. When you do this, you can see the ideal settings for your PC and you don’t have to mess around with anything. If you do mess something up then it is very easy for you to go back to the default settings as well, so this is very important for you to keep in consideration.

Boosting the performance of your gaming PC has never been easier, and when you put the work in, you will soon find that there are so many options available for you to choose from. Some of them are free as well, so you never have to worry about overspending on your system.

  1. It’s a shame more people didn’t have a chance to play Lufia, Lufia II, and Illusion of Gaia. Those RPGs definitely deserve a spot on this list.Especially more than Contra 3. And heck, what’s with Kirby 3 taking a spot on here and not Kirby Super Star? Come onnnn. And why are there no puzzle games on here? Tetris Attack was the best!
