Marvel Week Kicks Off with the Avengers on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Avengers Endgame

On Monday, April 8th, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Paul Rudd stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to kick off Marvel Week in style. With Avengers: Endgame premiering this month, press season is in full swing.

The cast discussed everything from Downey’s Easter Sunday screening of Avengers: Endgame, to the tattoos they’ve got – even Hemsworth’s scratch and sniff portrait of Paul Rudd’s face. While the tattoo was special for the Avengers, one specific hero didn’t get the ink.

The reason Mark Ruffalo didn’t get that tattoo? The Hulk is afraid of needles!

Kimmel went on to ask about stand out moments for the cast since any questions about Endgame were off limits.

Paul Rudd’s most stand out moment was the very first time he filmed with the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War. They’d already filmed Ant-Man, and then suddenly he was seeing everyone in their suits and it was so exciting.

At one point, Chris Evans had to use the restroom and asked a prop guy to hold his shield. Rudd was sort of star-struck and asked to hold the shield and acted out some Captian America moves.

Scarlett Johansson talked about her favorite line, which was actually one from Iron Man 2 that she felt sort of silly saying.

Hemsworth’s was a line from Ragnarok. The infamous ‘He’s a friend from work‘ line actually came from a child who was visiting the set. Talk about heartwarming.

A clip from Endgame was then aired for the audience. It was the same footage that was Tweeted earlier today.

The cast also talked about their recent trip to Disneyland where they got to ride the awesome Guardians of the Galaxy ride. Downey skipped that one…it made him a little ill when he rode it on his daughter’s birthday. Hemsworth talked about the time he ‘cheated the system’ to let his daughter on the ride. Spoiler alert – he learned his lesson quickly!

They even discussed gifts they’ve given to one another for birthdays and…just because. Everything from sunflowers to the Buffalo Bills have been exchanged between the cast. In a moment of seriousness, Brad Paisley brought Downey an awesome Iron Man guitar that he played earlier in the show.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. The thing we love most about seeing this cast together is just that: seeing them together. Their bond is truly incredible.

Before the cast took off for the evening, Kimmel asked about the Black Widow movie. Johansson had nothing to say about that which Downey found quite hilarious. We guess it’ll still be a while before announcements on that movie are made.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th and more of the cast will join Jimmy Kimmel this week.
