HBO Debuts New ‘Westworld’ Trailer – ‘Westworld III’

Westworld III

Chances are if you’re reading this, you were also watching HBO last for what was one of the most anticipated nights of television ever. Whether or not the Game of Thrones series finale lived up to fan expectations (or more specifically your expectations), is another argument, but one thing that can be said that new Westworld trailer looks freaking awesome. Or at least we think so!

HBO offered viewers a first look at the upcoming third season of the Emmy-winning drama before the GoT finale premiere. And at first, you probably didn’t even realize you were watching a trailer for Westworld, as it’s a pretty strong departure from the environments we’ve become accustomed to with the series. But the subject matter remains the same – we’re still dealing with a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth. Only in Westworld Season 3, we’re also getting Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul.

The cast featured in the tease included Evan Rachel Wood, Aaron Paul, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi, and Marshawn Lynch. And in case you’re wondering about that perfect song choice – that would Pink Floyd’s “Brain Damage.”

We don’t have an exact date for when Westworld will return, but we do know it will be sometime in 2020. We bet that an exact premiere date along with an extended tease will likely come this July during San Diego Comic-Con, but until then – we’ll keep you posted with any additional details that surface! Let us know your thoughts on this Westworld tease in the comment section below! Are you excited for this shift in the series?

  1. I’m not very good at this, but is that Dolores at the end? Is it actually Dolores or Hale? Honestly, this show has almost gotten too smart/complex for me.

I wonder what the timeline is on this. In season 1 we saw Delores was the same from 30 years ago as she is today so this could be right after season 2 or it could be years later. I’m sure they will find some way to mess with us and the timeline.

    1. I’m going to have to rewatch the last season before this one – as it’s DEFINITELY more complex now. I have no idea what type of timeline we’re working with now – But it is Dolores at the end of the trailer. That was the only real tie-in for me knowing it was a Westworld trailer. haha 🙂
