Alex Cross Franchise Gets New Lead & Director

Idris Elba (The Wire) has been offered the lead in the reboot of the Alex Cross franchise. Morgan Freeman originally played Cross in the 1997 film ‘Kiss the Girls’ and the 2001 film ‘Along Came A Spider’. David Twohy (Pitch Black) will direct the film and is working on a rewrite of Kerry Williamson’s script. The script follows Cross, tracking a serial rapist who may have murdered his pregnant wife.
