‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner’ May Get Feature Film

According to a report, Summit Entertainment is looking into continuing the ‘Twilight’ franchise after ‘Breaking Dawn’ by possibly adapting Stephenie Meyer’s novella ‘The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner’ into a feature film.

A source commented, “It goes without saying Summit want to continue this franchise. Tanner is the one they’re looking at post-Breaking Dawn. It’s too early to talk casting, and everything we’re hearing is just speculation or off a wish list, but I don’t believe they plan on using the original actress, Jodelle Ferland, for the spin-off film. It’s all about numbers and names, you guys know that.”

  1. I completely agree. I think they could do it if they brought in some bigger names for other roles. I think the Twilight fans would be much happier that way.

  2. I am so extremely happy about this news! This novella shows the completely opposite side of Twilight – the side rarely talked about in detail in the series. I couldn’t put the novella down! I actually hope Slade returns to do this – he ruined Eclipse’s overstory, but he nailed the Seattle newborns! And I’m very disappointed Ferland won’t be returning – they really should stick with her – changing a key characters face? Not good.

  3. I agree, it would help with the continuation of the movies if the fans can relate back to Eclipse for the characters. I’m completely stoked about this! I think that there are so many areas in this book that have the potential to be amazing on the big screen that it would be madness not to pick it up and make a movie!
