‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Cast Surprises Fans at San Diego Comic-Con Activation

Brooklyn Nine-Nine at Comic-Con 2019

Imagine you were at Comic-Con and you had lined up to experience an activation for one of your favorite television shows. You think you’re walking into a type of escape room themed around this show. And then the doors open and you’re greeted with something else… The entire cast of your favorite television series hanging out in a recreation of one of the show’s sets!!!

That’s precisely what happened to this group of fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday afternoon! As the convention was wrapping up, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine activation in the Gaslamp Quarter welcomed a fortunate handful of fans in for a rather remarkable moment. Check out the video below!

I got to check out the activation last week at the media preview, and I have to say it’s been one of my favorite things NBC has done at SDCC. Fans were brought into the room where they learned that we were potential recruits and were going to be taking part in a sort of escape room experience. Next, they were divided into one of four groups, and then each team had to complete four tasks. Whichever team did it first was the winner.

Take a look at the level of detail that was put into the activation below.

A pretty freaking cool experience for fans! And on the way out you’re handed a pin to commenmorate your experience.

The Brooklynn Nine-Nine activation was one of many activations that fans were able to experience during Comic-Con. From Amazon’s new series’ Carnival Row to AMC’s Dead Quarters for The Walking Dead, experiences like these are being more elaborate and immersive every year. And if you’re not one of the fans that get a pass to the convention (as they’re becoming increasingly difficult to get in the Comic-Con lottery every year), you can still take part in all of these experiences outside the convention center. No convention pass is needed!
