‘The Walking Dead’ Season 11 Is Happening – And Lauren Cohan Is Returning!

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Season 11 is happening! The early renewal for the AMC series was announced at New York Comic-Con, just one day before the Season 10 premiere (which is tonight)!

That wasn’t the only big news that surfaced at the NYCC panel, Lauren Cohan (best known to fans as Maggie Greene) also announced that she will be returning as a series regular for The Walking Dead Season 11!

Cohan had previously left the series to star in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier, which was officially canceled after Season 1. Fans of the series didn’t give up so easily, and they held out hope when they heard that ABC might reverse their decision. However, that did not end up happening.

But back to the New York Comic-Con panel! The cast all shared their excitement about Cohan returning to the series – which some of the cast just found out yesterday!

“She just brings so much heart and vulnerability to that show,” Ross Marquand told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know where they’re going to go with that storyline I just found out today that she was for sure coming back but I would love to see a conclusion or at least a confrontation with her and Negan. That would be amazing.”

In addition to the announcement of Cohan’s return and the renewal of the series for Season 11, we also saw the first sneak peek look at the upcoming TWD spin-off series we’ve heard so much about. Take a look at the trailer shown at NYCC for the still-untitled new series (which trended on Twitter with #TWD3).

The Walking Dead Season 10 premieres tonight on AMC, and the spin-off series is set to premiere in Spring 2020. Are you excited for more TWD? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below!
