What’s quite humorous about Dan Fogler and I, besides our interview, is how we met. See, I was working ‘The Boys’ red carpet at SDCC asking the cast members which ‘Spice Girls’ song they would be when I spot Dan passing by blending in with the rest of the con-goers. He didn’t know me, I didn’t know him, but I waved like I did. You could see the confusion on his face, “Do I know her? Did she interview me before? She seems sure I know who she is, fuck it, I’ll just smile and keep walking.”
I figured, why not, it’s not like I’m EVER going to see him again. Next day, I’m at the Legion M lounge with Ming Chen chatting it up with Cooper Andrews (of Shazam and The Walking Dead fame) when it turns out he’s dining with Dan in the same lounge. Well, what ya know? Dan and I shake hands, and I state I loved him in Putnam County Spelling Bee and take a selfie. Never to see him again.
Until NYCC rolls around. Dan is advertising his comic, Mega Death at a booth. We hug, he shows me some art, and I go on my merry way. Until now, when I finally sit down with him, like the proper reporter I am, and talk Leaky Con.
I like Harry Potter. I read all the books, I saw all the films, Potter Puppet Pals are great, I would go to the parks if I wasn’t poor, but I wouldn’t consider myself a Potterhead. Dan, thankfully explained the whole scenario – It’s a con for Harry Potter nerds. #obviously
What happens next, well you’d have to see it to believe it, and luckily we caught the whole thing on video. Sit back and enjoy; my co-captain Jordan sure did.
