Is Your Car Ready for a Holiday Road Trip?

This post is sponsored by Kelley Blue Book; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

The holidays are fast approaching and with that comes road trips, holiday parties, Christmas shopping, trips to the movie theater with the family, and more. For first-time car owners, many might not know all the maintenance their car requires as the temperatures drop, and the miles add up.

For me, while I’m not a first-time car owner, I am a new car owner. I just got my 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid this past May and knowing that we’re heading out to Memphis for the holidays, means that I need to make sure everything is in good shape before hitting the road. I’m happy to report that I didn’t have anything major that needed to be done, and I have Kelley Blue Book to thank for giving me that peace of mind.

The Kelley Blue Book Auto Repair Guide is a resource for consumers to find out about needed recalls, maintenance, and repairs – and where to turn for a fair price on repairs before taking off on a long-distance trip.

Kelley Blue Book has been an incredible resource that I’ve personally relied on for years. When selling my first car, I was able to trust the price I was setting thanks to information supplied by Kelley Blue Book. And while I haven’t bought a used-car before, I’ve helped friends who have by making sure they were getting a fair price.

This new functionality that Kelley Blue Book is offering to consumers with the Auto Repair Guide brings a trusted resource into the picture of car maintenance. Knowing what a car needs to have done when it should be done, and how much it should cost is incredibly helpful information – especially when it’s coming from a third party and not directly from a dealership trying to convince you what you need to spend.

Similar to the Kelley Blue Book Price Advisor tool, KBB.com offers a Fair Repair Range estimator. This took gives consumers a guide on price ranges for service and repairs, based on the average deal service pricing. Once you find a good option, you can schedule a service appointment with a local dealership directly on KBB.com through their Featured Auto Repair Center.

It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to cars, but the on-going maintenance and what’s required to keep a car running in the best shape possible isn’t something I keep up with. Therefore, having a trusted resource that I can rely on to tell me what’s needed and what’s fair is something that’s super important to me. My last car lasted me for 21 years, and my new car I hope will last just as long. And making sure that there are no recalls, and that I get regular repairs and maintenance done is what will ensure that my 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will be driving with an antique car tag 24 and half years from now. You may be laughing, but this is my goal!
