Warner Bros. Converting ‘Harry Potter’ Films For 3D Blu-Ray

Variety is confirming that Warner Bros. is converting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for 3D Blu-ray.

We recently learned that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 will not hitting theaters in 3D on Nov. 19, but we are now learning that the studio has not ruled out completing the conversion later.

Variety goes on to add that the studio is keeping its 3D plans for the Harry Potter backtitles quiet, including street dates for 3D home video and whether there will be a theatrical re-release for the series.

They’re doing it with Titanic and Avatar, but as a Harry Potter fan I have to ask, will so soon of a series re-release result in Harry Potter losing it’s magic if all do indeed return to the big screen?
