Exclusive: Chad Werner Talks Airbnb Horror ‘A Perfect Host’

I don’t use Airbnb. Not at all. Never will. ‘A Perfect Host’ is the prime example as to why I’ll stick with sketchy motels, thank you very much. While the idea of an Airbnb host being a fitness nut and acting as a personal trainer to guests may seem like a unique little idea, there’s only so far I’m willing to go as I keep my body in perfect condition. By that, I mean I want my body to stay alive.

We recently spoke with the film’s director Chad Werner about the surprising number of layers found in this indie horror film. Rather than going to usual route typically associated with the genre, there’s quite a bit of character study happening here. Check it out below.

Synopsis:

Four friends rent an isolated lake house for a weekend getaway. While the dramas of the friends’ relationships unfold, they are continually interrupted by the home’s owner: a health-obsessed bodybuilder named Tad. Throughout the group’s short stay, Tad’s seemingly affable gestures take an eerie and sinister twist, turning their dream vacation into a nightmare. Mystery entangles this tale that questions the blind acceptance of modern-day practices.
