‘Hangover 2’ Drops Mel Gibson Cameo

Todd Phillips, director of The Hangover 2, is reporting disappointing news for fans hoping that The Hangover 2 would bring us a Mel Gibson comeback.

According to the director, Mel Gibson’s cameo as a tattoo artist in the film has been dropped.

Reason? Obviously from the statement given by Phillips, someone within the cast and crew [or more than one someone], doesn’t want Gibson in the film.

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team,” said Phillips in a statement released by the studio, “But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew,” says Phillips.

But should the opinions of a film’s cast and crew be reason enough to drop an actor if they will bring fans to the theaters and laughs to the screen?

  1. A sad day in Hollywood, I know many of us were looking forward to seeing The Patriot… wait I mean Mel Gibson on screen again and in a surely delightful comedy at that.

  2. lol yeah I think this would have been a good role for him. I’ve heard he’s pretty pissed about being replaced too. About to post an article on that shortly 🙂
