‘I Am Not Okay With This’: Everything You Need to Know About Netflix’s New Series
After the huge success that Netflix had with Stranger Things and The End of the F***ing World, the streaming service is bringing us yet another binge-worthy series with the same vibes. I Am Not Okay With This comes from the same world of graphic novels by Charles Forsman as The End of the F***ing World.
The series comes from the producers who brought us one of the most iconic shows (Stranger Things), the directors from TEOTFW, and the cast of IT, what more could we really ask for?

What is I Am Not Okay With This about?
The new series is a coming of age story about a girl who, while dealing with the trials and tribulations of high school, also gains superpowers. Of course, there’s also a comedic edge to lighten the darker side of the story.
The trailer starts off with IT star Sophia Lillis playing Sydney, a “boring 17-year-old white girl”. However, she seems anything but boring as she runs down the street Carrie style covered in blood while being chased by cops.
It’s clear that Sydney is dealing with everyday obstacles of being a teenager, understanding her sexuality, and overcoming family problems. And as the trailer continues, we learn that Sydney has also just gained telekinesis powers and it seems to occur when she “loses her temper”. She recently lost her father and now everything is just different.
With all of the changes occurring in Sydney’s life, she confides in another IT co-star, Wyatt Oleff who plays Stanley. To make matters more complicated, Sydney is also dealing with hiding the fact that she may have a new love interest who also happens to her best friend, Dina (Sofia Bryant). Other actors starring in the series include Kathleen Rose Perkins, Richard Ellis, Aidan Wojtak Hissong, and is directed by Jonathan Entwistle.
It’s a story we can all relate to, but with extra added elements that we only wish we could relate to. I mean, having super powers would pretty rad right?
What Are People Saying?
Netflix describes the new show as if “John Hughes made a superhero movie.”
So essentially the vibes of Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Pretty in Pink crossed with a Marvel film.
Fans have already taken to Twitter to share their excitement for the series – as the #iamnotokaywiththis was trending this morning. Check out some of the top tweets:

When Can We Watch?
Netflix has released the seven-episode first season TODAY. The downside, however, the episodes are only 30 minutes long, and we know we will probably binge it all in a couple of days (or a day… looks around to see if I’m alone) and then have to wait a year for more while constantly googling “When will I Am Not Okay With This Season 2 be released”.
