Wonder Woman 1984 Delayed Due to COVID-19
In an announcement made on March 24th, Wonder Woman 1984 has officially been delayed. The news, while not surprising, is causing a slew of emotions from fans across the world. Many have taken to social media to express their gratitude for the trailer and for the decision to delay the film until we can safely enjoy it in theaters. Of course, some fans are upset – as is to be expected – but these are unfamiliar and scary times.
There’s always a light to be found, however. Gal Gadot herself echoed that sentiment in a statement in response to the news that broke early Tuesday.
In these dark and scary times, I am looking forward to a brighter future ahead. Where we can share the power of cinema together again. Excited to redate our WW84 film to August 14, 2020. I hope everyone is safe. Sending my love to you all. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/nzPUM7uQ1n

The cast and crew of the film put so much heart, dedication, and time into the movie. It comes as no surprise that they’re probably feeling some heavy emotions right alongside the fans. Gal Gadot plays Wonder Woman with such poise and dignity. That type of performance deserves the big theatrical debut. Fans want that debut because they want to pour into midnight releases across the country. They want to get decked out in their best fan gear and sit in theaters with people as excited as they are.
The photo in Gal Gadot’s Tweet is actually the new poster for Wonder Woman 1984, so we did get a bit of a ‘treat’ with the less than stellar news of the setback. We truly can’t wait to see the film on the big screen this summer.
The new release date for the film is August 14th, so the wait truly isn’t that long. It’s definitely worth it when you consider the health and safety of everyone involved. We’ll see you all in theaters this August, in our Wonder Woman gear!
