Morbius Gets a 2021 Release Date and Fans Get a New Look at Jared Leto as Michael Morbius

Jared Leto Morbius

Morbius has officially been added to the list of delayed films due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film’s new release date is March 19, 2021. While the news isn’t exactly exciting, a photo recently released did give fans a little something to look forward to.

Comic Con Magazine released a photo of Jared Leto as Morbius and it is awesome. It shows Leto’s face with a sliver of the vampire showing though. A nod to the premise of the film. In an attempt to save his own life, Biochemist Michael Morbius, tries to come up with a cure for his rare blood disease. It sees a man as time is ticking down…perpahs slipping into the most vulnerable state of life: willing to do anything to survive.

His portrayal of the character, from what we’ve seen so far, is sure to be a good one. Leto takes on the character perfectly.

“I went from dying to feeling more alive than ever,” Morbius says when asked what’s happening. He also questions how far is too far to fix a broken thing. These will obviously be the two major points in the film…feeling alive and wanting to be the hero while also…literally thirsting for blood and knowing how far is too far.

You can watch the trailer, again, below.

Morbius will hit theaters on March 19th of 2021.
