DVD Review: America Pie: Beta House

In American Pie Presents: Beta House, the gang’s all-new hijinks take them from the town of Great Falls to a university in Michigan. At the college, the party scene is in full swing, especially along fraternity row, where the competition for social supremacy is ferocious.

DVD Review: Smiley Face

Jane F, an unsuccessful slacker actress, is having a bad day. And it’s getting more outrageous and comically surreal by the minute. SMILEY FACE is a freewheeling, cinematically stylized AFTER HOURS for the new millennium. Jane’s misadventures begin when she treats herself to a batch of cupcakes left unattended by her psycho roommate that prove not as innocent as they appear.

DVD Review: The Heartbreak Kid

Big laughs head south of the border in the Farrelly Brothers’ newest twist on boy-meets-girl.

If you were a fan of There’s Something About Mary than this movie is definitely one you should check out. The humor is typical is Ben Stiller style, and the movie itself is packed with moments of awkwardness and uncalled for nudity that can only be described as outrageous.

DVD Review: The Tudors: Season 1

The Tudors presents the rarely dramatized, tumultuous early years of King Henry VIII’s nearly 40 year, omnipotent reign (1509-1547). In addition to his famous female consorts and 20+ year marriage to Catherine of Aragon to the infamous dalliance with Anne Boleyn, the series delves in to Henry’s most notable political relationship and the deconstruction of the Roman Catholic Church in England.

DVD Review: Bring It On: In It To Win It

The 4th installment of Bring It On is pretty much what you expect it to be. A little corny, a little cute, a little crazy, and a whole lot of dancing/ cheering. While this movie will probably ink itself into the favorites list belonging to young teens across the country, if you’re outside of that age bracket, this won’t be a title that appeals to you.

DVD Review: Eastern Promises

David Cronenberg has done it again. Eastern Promises is without a doubt an edge-of-your-seat thriller. This film isn’t dumbed down or held back as so many films are that come from Hollywood are. It’s brutal, it will make you squirm, and it may give you nightmares. Whatever the case may be, this movie will without doubt leave an impression on you.

DVD Review: The Kingdom

The Kingdom is probably exactly what you would expect it to be. A pure action film. While there are drops of emotional overtones in various places throughout the film, overall it is simply about the action.

The film started out strong and finished with a bang, however everything in between seemed generic and a bit slow. While the film is political, it isn’t to a degree that would turn anyone off.

DVD Review: The Bourne Ultimatium

The Bourne Ultimatum is a non-stop thriller, even more-so than the previous two films. This time around all the spy tricks and gadgets, the car chases, and impressive fight scenes will leave you with a dazed expression on your face if you can keep up at all. The action is relentless and fast-paced without being predictable and provides for some of the best action scenes of the year.

DVD Review: Frasier: Season 10

Kelsey Grammer (“Cheers”) stars as Dr. Frasier Crane, a successful Boston psychiatrist who moved to Seattle to get a fresh start on life. He has his own radio talk show which he uses to relay his wit and wisdom for others. At times, he struggles with his own neuroses from his family and friends, though often he does not take his own advice.

Interview: Michael J. Andersen from Twin Peaks

Considered both technically and artistically revolutionary when it debuted, TWIN PEAKS- garnered 18 Emmy nominations over the course of its two-season run with its cast of memorable characters, stunning cinematography and intriguing plot. Co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost and a large number of the cast and crew made the series a household favorite, and quickly found themselves with a fanbase that was one of the most loyal in the history of fandom.

We had the honor of sitting down with Michael J. Andersen, who played the man from another place on the hit series. We talked with him about what it was like working on the series, what he thought of the script, and about that famous cherry pie.

Interview: Ashley Benson from Bring It On: In It To Win It

In Bring It On: In It To Win It, Southern California high-school senior Carson (Ashley Benson) arrives at the all-important “Cheer Camp Nationals” determined to lead her squad, the West High Sharks, to victory. But chic New Yorker Brooke (Cassie Scerbo) and her team, the East High Jets, are equally steadfast in their pursuit of the competition’s coveted “Spirit Stick.” As tension mounts between the two rival squads, Carson falls for fellow cheerleader Penn (Michael Copon), not realizing he’s a Jet. When Brooke discovers the budding romance, she raises the stakes by challenging Carson to a one-on-one cheer-off. A spectacular “cheer fighting” sequence erupts into a no-holds-barred brawl and cheerleaders on both sides are suspended from the competition. With their dreams of taking home the top prize all but shattered, the leaders of both squads realize they’ll have to take drastic measures to stay in the game.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Ashley Benson, who plays Carson in the film, to talk about the film, her training for the film, and exactly how she got time off from the soap opera she was a regular on to do this film.
