Fourth Indiana Jones Film Is Spielberg’s Biggest Hit

INDIANA JONES & THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL has given director STEVEN SPIELBERG his biggest global opening ever with a stunning $311 million (#155.5
million) five-day haul.

The fourth film in the Indiana Jones franchise has hit number one at box offices in 62 countries around the world, following its release last week (ends23May08).

Spielberg’s previous best was War of the Worlds, which opened with $202 million (#101 million) over the 4 July weekend in 2005.

Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull cost an estimated $185 million (#92.5 million) to make.
