Rose McGowan Issues Sort-Of-But-Not-Really Apology for Calling Gay Men ‘Misogynists’

Rose McGowan has sorta-kinda-not-really apologized to gay rights groups after taking aim at homosexuals in a recent interview with author Brett Easton Ellis.

The Once Upon a Time actress upset gay leaders by calling homosexual men “misogynists” as part of an ill-advised rant.

She said:

“Gay men are as misogynistic as straight men, if not more so. I have an indictment of the gay community right now, I’m actually really upset with them. You wanna talk about the fact that I have heard nobody in the gay community, no gay males, standing up for women on any level?

“I see now people who have basically fought for the right to stand on top of a (Gay Pride) float wearing an orange Speedo (swimming trunks) and take molly (drug MDMA).”

Upon receiving backlash from the gay community, McGowan took to Twitter to “apologize” for her remarks, explaining, “I was p**sed off when I said that, obvs (obviously) a gross over generalization, for which I apologize. But my point stands. Could I have articulated my frustration in a better fashion? Undoubtedly. For that I apologize.”

But as she keeps tweeting is when we enter the sorry-not-sorry territory…
