Catching Up on the Wii U – Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty: Ghosts
Call of Duty: Ghosts offers an action-packed and entertaining campaign no matter what console it’s played on. I love it on PC, and still I enjoy every minute of it on the Wii U as well. That goes beyond single player as I’ve put even more countless hours into the online multiplayer addiction that Call of Duty offers.

It took me a minute to get used to the Wii U Pro Controller again after playing non-stop keyboard and mouse on PC, but that didn’t take long as I played a lot of Black Ops II on the Wii U and the other Call of Duty titles on the Xbox 360. I’ve never been a huge Wiimote fan, but I’ve seen a few killcams where I can understand the superiority it can have for players. The online community of players isn’t very large compared to other platforms, but there are still plenty of gamers available for all the online gameplay that’s needed.

Ghosts offers one of the most entertaining campaigns I’ve played in a Call of Duty title. Gamers can get plenty out of the single player experience without even needing to jump online for multiplayer fun. I will, however, take a shot at the Wii U’s lack of graphical powers as it does disappoint me in this title. It’s only because I played the game first on PC, but there is one section in the game that the graphics just look incredible on PC. It really builds up the atmosphere of the area the player is in. This area, of course, looks horrible on the Wii U and causes players to skip onward without even caring about the atmosphere. This affects the game and doesn’t allow for players to really get in to what’s going on.

Anyway, it’s not always about the graphics, but it is in this case.

Still, Ghosts is a fine title for Wii U owners who want to be entertained by action-packed sequences.
