Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band – Stranger in Town
Another album that I will always keep in the forefront of my mind as being a big influence is ‘Stranger in Town’ by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. What an amazing album with so many hits. Just powerful stuff and even though this album was his tenth studio album, released in 1978, he still performed so many of these songs with great vocals this past year or so in his live performances. I was fortunate enough to see him twice on his last tour and he was amazing. My fondest memories of this album are going with my sister and her husband and my niece and nephew out to eat at a little pizza joint on 378 (no longer there unfortunately) just down from the Lexington Medical Center and ordering pizza and listening to almost the entire album on the entire jukebox. Then we would get to their house and would put it on the record player and listen to it some more. Classic stuff indeed! ‘Hollywood Nights’, Still the Same’, Old Time Rock and Roll’, and ‘We’ve Got Tonight’ are my favs on this one!
