Yet another Netflix true crime documentary that I highly recommend is ‘Murder By The Coast.’ It is not that it is done any better than others I have watched in the past year or so. What makes this one so different is the fact that there is someone wrongly accused and charged with one of the two murders covered in this documentary and she lost 15 months of her life. This show has tons of drama and it is like watching a soap opera on television, with all the cameras, news shows and newspapers covering the murders.
It is absolutely insane that an innocent woman, Dolores Vázquez, is found almost immediately guilty without really any solid evidence. Everything against her is basically circumstantial and yet the jury in the Spanish Court convicts her and the judge sentences her to 15 years. Many interviewed believe it is because of Dolores’ lifestyle – she and the mother of the first missing girl used to be involved in a romantic relationship – and people were convicting her because of that. Then to make matters even worse is what does – no, what does not – happen after she is exonerated of the crime.
This is not a long documentary so you can watch it in a sitting and I can guarantee you once you start you will want to do just that.
