The Capote Tapes
Prior to seeing this 2019 documentary on Truman Capote, ‘The Capote Tapes’, the only thing I knew about him was he was a) famous for being famous and hanging out with the ultimate in wealthy society and b) was the author of the infamous, ‘In Cold Blood’, which was made into a film that scared me to death when I was younger. I had no idea that he had written ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ or that he was so engrained in the high society of the New York wealthy. I did not really follow him or hear about the outrage he caused in the high society group he hung out with when excerpts of his novel, ‘Answered Prayers’ were released. What I really saw in this documentary was a sad, lonely person who was just looking to be loved for who he was. Very informative film about a brilliant writer.
