The Rolling Stones – Some Girls
Another great album from the late 70’s – and another one of my influences – is by the classic band, The Rolling Stones. Next to the later released ‘Tattoo You’, one of my favorites, the album ‘Some Girls’ is in my opinion one of their best. Released in 1978, this one showcased such classic songs as ‘Miss You’, ‘Beast of Burden’, and ‘Shattered.’ It was a major critical and commercial success for the band, reaching #1 in the US and becoming their biggest selling album in the US at that time, selling over 6 million. Also, the band added guitarist Ronnie Wood to the line-up at this time. The album definitely has some disco/punk/blues feels and vibes to it. I remember this album being on replay quite a bit when staying at my sister and brother-in-law’s house when it came out. It still holds up well in my opinion. Great album!
